Dream Killers

What is a dream killer?  In my opinion a dream killer is someone who never supports the things that I want to do with my life.  I have had dream killers in my life for as long as I can remember.  And they started at home with my siblings and as sad as it is my parents also.

My Daddy killed my dream of wanting to become a doctor by telling me when I was in the 3rd grade he said "you have to be very smart to be a Doctor"  In other words he was telling me that I wasn't smart enough, at least that's the feeling that followed, because he didn't back it up with telling me that I was smart enough. From that point foward as a child and a young adult I stopped believing in my own abilitiy to succeed in things that I wanted for myself.

I guess the reason I'm writing this is to say to anyone that is reading : "Don't Be A Dream Killer"  Support the person in whatever they want to do, do not knock they're dream outta the park before the batter gets up to bat or the pitcher gets up to pitch, don't strike a batter out if he hasn't picked up the bat and please don't ever tell a child that they are not smart enough.

My Most Embarassing Moment

Most Embarassing Moment

My most embarrassing moment was when my daddy came to my elementary school to see me in a school play that I played the leading role.  I don't remember the name of the play I just know that I was the Queen and this boy name Silas was the King and I was so proud that I beat Deborah Hooker at the auditions, she was the most popular girl in school and I was the one everybody teased so it was a big deal to beat her in the auditions her mother even tried to come to the school and get the teacher to take me out as Queen because Deborah cried like a baby, I was happy.
Well my daddy was the parent that showed up at the school, he was in a motorcycle club gang or whatever it was so he showed up with his motorcycle gear. The clogs, the funny looking hat the purse the vest that had those long loose fringes on it and an EAR RING IN HIS EAR!!! OMG  I could not believe it!! All the kids started saying ugly things about him and started teasing me too! This was before the play started. Once I got on stage I couldn't remember any of my lines so I made them up any it worked because I came close enough to what they really was.  After the play was over I told my daddy that he better not ever come to my school with an earring in his ear again. And it's been over 35 years and I have never seen my daddy with that motorcycle out fit on or that ear ring in his ear.

I fly high like an Eagle

Most of us know that the Eagle represents nobility, power and freedom. It's keen vision goes above all the rest.  The Bible says "But those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles"  Isaiah 40:3                                                               When I was a little girl I remember watching this movie called "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock.  I was scared for many years of birds because I believed back then that everything I seen on television was real and there was nothing anyone could say to me to change my mind.                                           I'm an adult now and yes I still have a sense of anxiety of most birds especially buzzards, because they are so big and creepy and because I live in the country were armadillo's, possum's, and deer sometimes are killed on the side of the road and  I've see those big nasty birds eating dead meat!

I must tell you though, I love the Eagle although they are also big and eat dead meat, they are also striking and they fly above the rest.   They will even wait for the storm to come before it soars into the sky. The eagle has intense sight he can look down from above the clouds into the ocean and see his prey.  I want to be able in the same way to see my prey so that I am able to fly above the storms of life that can stop me from being road meat.                                                 I want the kind of vision that is above all rest it's a spiritual vision to be able to see what God's vision is for me, to me that will be flying above the storms of life above the clouds that can shed darkness into the vision of a person that doesn't fly like an eagle. The Steve Miller Band sings a song "Fly Like an Eagle" "I want to fly like an eagle To the sea fly like an eagle let my spirit carry me time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin in to the future

A Slice Of My Lyfe

A Slice Of My Lyfe.

I was born on May 26th 1966 in Denver Colorado.  The only girl in a all male family ..I have been the twinkle in everybody's eye.  I have no family memeber's in my age group that are female, so when I say the only girl I mean exactly that.  I grew up with my brother's and there best friend's and they're bestfriends brother's and also my cousin's and there friends and there friends friends all male!
My oldest brother wanted me to conduct myself as alady at all times and also to look smile and dress pretty.  He started paying me at age 7 too keep my toe nails painted pink and 40 years later he still pays me.  He said to me when I was 7 "if your toe nails are painted I will give you $20.00, of course my toe nails was not painted but I found a way to get those toes painted and collected my MONEY!
Everytime he got paid from that day foward he'd say Is yo' toe nail painted?" and of course they was and I got my money.
There was time when it was very difficult for me to have boyfriends because they had to be apporoved by so many different males in my life, most of the time they didn't last past meeting my brother's or one of there friend's the first time.
It wasn't until I moved to Texas that I had a normal relationships with males, I no longer had to run and hide or be scared that I would be embarrassed.
I do thank my brother's because I have set my standards high and I know what to look for in a husband.  I look for a man that Loves god respects his mother takes care of his kids, someone who can heklp me groe spiritually and emotionally a man that can really help me find the true defnition of LOVE.

I prefer music above all entertainment.  My favorite style is Gospel. I like gospel music because it helps put me to get in touch with God and it also nourishes my spirit.  Gospel music cleanses my soul and also helps me to appreciate who Jesus is and why he sacrificed his life.
I listen to Gospel music more than any other style because it talks about all things in life. Gospel music shows me that I was saved by God's grace and his mercy.
I do not need R&B nor do I like any types of other music to help see life. Gospel music is entertainment and it is also soothing, the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is turn my Gospel music on and pray and listen to the words and stories that come along with music and I hear my testimony in

almost every song
